UPGRADES:  Shares of Petrohawk Energy Corp. extended gains for a third consecutive session Tuesday after Raymond James raised its price target to $64 from $54.

On Monday, HK gained 5.4% following a price target raise to $70 from $40 at BMO Capital Markets.

FLOYD was supposed to sell the company, not his own shares.

HK just had a public offering at $26.53 , and few weeks later FLOYD sells?  where is the faith FLOYD? .... hmmmm... HK currently at $34.61 , natgas is off big,  Gustavo is on.   Friends of Floyd say company will be sold above $40.  BOTD says sell HK at $32 or $39,  whichever comes first.

Friedman Billings reiterates Outperform. Target $21 to $24. Friedman Billings adds HK to their Top Picks list and raises their tgt to $24 from $21 noting HK shares have rallied since the start of the year, as management has consistently highlighted its desire to focus on the co's operations. With management also contemplating the possibility of monetizing just its Permian assets, the firm believes the co is in a great position. The firm says on one hand, M&A comps suggest the company could be sold for near a $20 takeout, without commanding a huge premium. Further, if only the Permian assets are sold or spun out in an M.L.P structure, they believe mgmt would fetch at least $3 per share in value.

TECH afterhours EARNINGS RECAP:

First was GOOG earnings, ... report comes out, stock drops HUGE, 11% initially.  nice! 

Then MSFT, reports earnings, stock down 6%+  ... getting excited! 

Our anticipation grows anxiously ..... c'mon BIG BLUE! 

IBM reports!!!  shares "halted" ... HALTED!! ... WTF!!!!  the momentum from GOOG and MSFT was sure to knock IBM down.... but with the shares "halted" , and the afterhours screen stuck at $126.25 ... we sat in disbelief as other BIG TECH traded lower.... even ORCL (which didn't report) was down 2%+ ... ...  ...  IBM finally resumed trading, in scrabbled egg fashion, only to end down .40cents.   FORTY CENTS??? .... was all our time, money, and effort betting against IBM for not?  

p.s.   and yes, HK down HUGE (-15%+) ... daily low of $36.57 ... next buy under $35, then $29 ... Faith in FLOYD.    ..... Since we can't sell HK , we add "hedges" to limit our downside risk.... HK is falling as oil and natgas takes a dump, ...when oil goes down, airline stocks, cruise ship stocks, transportation stocks go up.  In the past we bought puts on GDP as our hedge, ... this dip we added  LONG RCL.... Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) up 10%+ hedged some of our HK losses today.   

p.s.s.  newly added TGT up 3% more and RJF up 6.65%, ... look to take profits!

FLOYD!  HK announces that it has completed its initial horizontal well in the Haynesville Shale. On June 27, 2008, the Elm Grove Plantation #63 was placed on production. On June 29, 2008, the well produced at an average rate of approximately 16.8 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with 5,600 pounds flowing casing pressure on a 26/64" choke. The pilot hole drilled on the well encountered approximately 212 net feet of Haynesville Shale. The targeted interval in the reservoir was at 11,005 feet true vertical depth, and a lateral of 3,880 feet in length was drilled. The completion of the well included eleven stages of fracture stimulation. The Elm Grove Plantation #63 is located in Section 9 - Township 16 North - Range 11 West, Bossier Parish, Louisiana. The co is currently drilling three horizontal Haynesville Shale wells and expects to have six operated rigs drilling Haynesville Shale wells by mid- September, 2008.
